Save the Date: 2025 WiSys SPARK Symposium in Madison Celebrates 25 Years of Innovation

MADISON-Next summer, the WiSys SPARK Symposium will be held in Madison for the first time in its history. The event, which will be held July 23-25, 2025, will mark the 25th anniversary of the creation of WiSys and unite the best and brightest from across the Universities of Wisconsin in the state capital.
The location of the annual symposium, now in its 18th year, rotates throughout the state to shine a spotlight on a different UW campus and its work, while highlighting the research and innovation across the Universities of Wisconsin. The 2024 symposium was hosted by UW-Superior.
Annual event highlights include a Student Innovation Showcase, the WiSys Quick Pitch State Final, and the Innovation Awards reception. Additional sessions include faculty research talks and networking opportunities. The full schedule will be announced this winter after registration opens.
“Madison was the logical choice to mark WiSys’ 25th anniversary as it was here that the idea of WiSys was conceived by the Universities of Wisconsin System Administration  in collaboration with the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF),” said WiSys President Arjun Sanga. “We started as a subsidiary of WARF with the idea that all UW schools should have the opportunity to transform their ideas into commercial and social impact through technology transfer services. It seems appropriate to celebrate in Madison with our WARF colleagues as they mark their 100th anniversary.”
Registration to attend the symposium will open in January 2025. Please visit wisys.org/spark for event information and a recap of SPARK 2024. To learn more about sponsorship opportunities, contact Blane Huppert, WiSys Sponsor and Partnership Associate, at bhuppert@wisys.org.
