UW-Green Bay Manitowoc Campus holds book sale after library services cut | WLUK
MANITOWOC (WLUK) — In-person library services at UW-Green Bay’s campuses in Marinette and Manitowoc came to an end at the start of the year, leaving the schools scrambling to get rid of their materials.
The decision was announced back in October, as the Universities of Wisconsin grapples with budget problems.
On Thursday, the Manitowoc campus held a one-day-only book and movie sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. All items cost $1.
The school tells FOX 11 it is subject to certain procedures when getting rid of property obtained using state funds.
In Marinette, many residents were shocked and outraged when they found a dumpster filled to the brim with library books on campus.
853 books were sold for $1 a piece during the Marinette campus’ sale last week, according to the university spokesperson.
