Veterans’ week events continue with special presentations of Bent Compass
Performances at Fort Howard Hall at The Weidner and the UW-Green Bay Marinette Campus
Green Bay, WI – The Weidner is proud to welcome ‘Bent Compass’ to UW-Green Bay this week. Bent Compass was written by Neil Brookshire and Colin Sesek and is performed by Brookshire.
There are two opportunities to view this free event.
Bent Compass
Wednesday, November 9th 6 p.m. Fort Howard Hall at The Weidner
Thursday, November 10th 7 p.m. UW-Green Bay Marinette Campus
Bent Compass is based on transcribed interviews with Colin Sesek about his deployment as a combat army medic in Iraq with the 82nd Airborne. The play candidly discusses Sesek’s war time experience and explores its impact on reintegration into civilian life. Sesek’s story is not sensationalized, but is told with compassion, humor, simplicity and honesty.
UW-Green Bay is proud of the number of veteran students it serves. Viewing is highly encouraged for the campus and community at large to deepen the understanding of a combat veteran’s experience coming home and pursuing their life goals. This performance is free to attend with the generous sponsorship of Theatre on The Bay in partnership with The Weidner. Bent Compass contains strong language and includes descriptions of acts of war.
