Phoenix Friday reminder — and stick around for APPter8 IN THE CLUB

Don’t forget your UW-Green Bay gear for tomorrow’s Phoenix Friday — the first of spring semester. Our friends at the Union’s Phoenix Club also remind you to stick around (or come back) for a special offer on a variety of delicious appetizers. On Friday (Jan. 30) and Saturday (Jan. 31), they’ll be offering APPetizers after 8 p.m. in the Club, also known as APPter8 IN THE CLUB. The Phoenix Club will be serving boneless wings, chicken tenders, deep fried ravioli, mozzarella sticks, cheese curds, onion rings, deep fried bread sticks and waffle fries from 8 p.m. until midnight. Prices range from $1.50 to $4.50 with both dining and pass points accepted. Bring a group and hope to see you there!

Free popcorn week continues

We here at the Log somehow managed to forget to advertise this month’s official Free Popcorn Week for faculty and staff, but the University Union’s popcorn czars have granted us special dispensation to advertise the offer again this week. Monday through Friday (April 28 to May 2), show your employee ID at the Phoenix Club and get one bag of deliciously salty, quasi-buttery corn goodness as a generous token of employee appreciation.

Faculty and staff… Grab your paddles… Let’s ping pong!

Sign up now for the winter break Faculty/Staff Ping Pong Tournament to be held during the month of January in the Phoenix Club! You can sign up online, or by emailing Lee Reinke on or before Wednesday (Jan. 8). Brackets will be formed and you will play your match over the lunch hour in the Phoenix Club where you can bring your own lunch or purchase food from the Phoenix Club menu which includes pizza, nachos, brats and other snacks. Each match will consist of a best of three games format when you and your competitor can arrange a lunch hour to meet with a winner and consolation bracket. The tournament will be single elimination and the overall winner will receive a food coupon for the club. It will be great competition among colleagues!! If you have any comments or questions please email Lee.
