Lynn Renard, a custodian at the Green Bay Campus for more than 10 years, passed away March 16 in her home. Most recently, and until her last day of work on September 20, 2019, she worked in Wood Hall, but also spent significant time at the Kress Events Center during her career and was widely known and a fond member of the operations team.
According to the obituary, Lynn was the first woman in Wisconsin to obtain her charter captain license, and worked until the day she no longer was able to at UWGB. “UWGB family, mom loved you and talked about you all the time.”
“In respect to her wishes, a private wake is planned for the immediate family, followed by a celebration of life (chicken dinner with a cold Natty Light) for the extended family to share memories and stories of this amazing woman.”

The UW-Green Bay golf team has a new place on campus to help the team practice in winter months. The space past the bleachers outside the swimming pool in the Kress Events Center. After getting approval from other sports programs who use the space and athletic director, Charles Guthrie, the project was underway. Only two months later, the facility is open and golfers can be seen practicing their craft. Twenty-five teams of UW-Green Bay students battled to stay afloat while sinking their competitors during “Canoe Battleship” at the Kress Events Center pool, Thursday, Jan. 30. The winners of the aquatic competition got their names on the canoe paddle and a victory t-shirt.
“It’s super fun, it’s unique and different. It’s not something you get to do every day. And our turnout is great,” Casey Pivonka, Kress Event Center recreation coordinator, told members of the media.
