Graduating seniors earn Chancellor's Medallion, Leadership Awards honors
Fourteen graduating seniors at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay will be honored with Chancellor’s Medallions or University Leadership Awards during a recognition ceremony Friday, Dec. 16.
The Chancellor’s Medallions honor academic achievement and leadership as demonstrated through campus and community involvement during the students’ UW-Green Bay careers. The Office of Student Life coordinates the selection process, during which a committee of faculty, staff and students chooses the recipients based on nominations.
The December 2011 Chancellor’s Medallion recipients are:
—Rebecca Davenport, Green Bay, Business Administration, summa cum laude
—Tonya Filz, Appleton, Psychology, cum laude, with distinction in the major
—Caitlin Gurlt, Oshkosh, Psychology, summa cum laude, with distinction in the major
—Gabriela Parra, Green Bay, Political Science and Urban and Regional Studies, cum laude
—Michael Roderique, Onalaska, Art
—Aisha Umar, Green Bay, Human Biology, summa cum laude, with distinction in the major
—Mohamed Zakarya, Green Bay, Human Biology, cum laude
Another seven students will be honored Friday with Fall 2011 University Leadership Awards, designed to recognize undergraduates who have contributed to the growth and development of a registered student organization or who have exhibited a commitment to community service, while remaining in good academic standing. Honorees are:
