Vocal Jazz Ensemble to perform Tuesday

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Vocal Jazz Ensemble will perform in concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 23) in the University Theatre, located in Theatre Hall on the UW-Green Bay campus, 2420 Nicolet Drive.

Christine Salerno, who has been a vocal jazz educator for more than two decades, directs the Vocal Jazz Ensemble.

“I think people will love to hear this concert because of the variety of jazz styles and the mixture of ensemble and solo pieces,” Salerno said.

Members of the Vocal Jazz Ensemble are sopranos Sarah Chayer, Amanda Gaura, Farin Ludtke and Lacy Siegmund; altos Nikita Cantable, Angie Roskos and Erika Sleik; tenors Greg Muller and Julio Reyes; and basses Tony Pensavento and Christian Schnobrich.

Guest artist Jeni Funk, a 1996 UW-Green Bay music graduate, will also be performing.

The concert will feature solos by: Nikita Cantable, Angie Roskos and Farin Ludtke (“Watch Out”), Julio Reyes (“I Get A Kick Out Of You”), Lacy Siegmund (“Lagrimas Negras”), Tony Pensavento (“Gee, Baby Ain’t I Good To You), Greg Muller, Lacy Siegmund, Erika Sleik and Julio Reyes (“Polkadots and Moonbeams”), Angie Roskos (“I Won’t Dance”), Farin Ludtke (“Midnight Sun”), Greg Muller, Farin Ludtke, Julio Reyes and Jeni Funk (“A Night In Tunisia”) and Farin Ludtke, Tony Pensavento and Jeni Funk (“Smack Dab In The Middle”).

A rhythm section made up of Mike Farrow, guitar; Ben Hogan, drums; Adam LeGrave, percussion; and Seth Parmer, bass, will accompany the ensemble.
