UW-Green Bay student art exhibition opens Nov. 18 in Lawton Gallery
The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s 38th Annual Juried Student Art Exhibition opens Thursday, Nov. 18 at the Lawton Gallery on the UW-Green Bay campus.
The exhibition, which showcases artworks by students from across the campus, opens with a reception in the gallery from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Nov 18. Fourteen awards will be announced at 5 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
The Lawton Gallery is located in Theatre Hall, Room 230 on the UW-Green Bay campus at 2420 Nicolet Drive.
Fifty-two artists submitted a total of 123 pieces to the competition. Nicholas Frank, curator at the Institute of Visual Arts at the Peck School of the Arts at UW-Milwaukee, selected 63 works by 40 artists for the exhibit.
Students in the Lawton Gallery’s Gallery/Museum Studies Program designed the layout for the show.
The student exhibition closes Thursday, Dec. 9.
Lawton Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The gallery will be closed Nov. 25 through Nov. 27 for the Thanksgiving holiday break.
