UW-Green Bay students invite community to trick-or-treat

GREEN BAY – Parents are invited to bring children ages 14 and under to a Safe Trick-or-Treat Night from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, on the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay campus.

Trick-or-treaters and their guardians may arrive at the Ecumenical Center on the east side of campus at any time between 6 and 8 p.m. Parking is in the sports center lot between the Kress Events Center and the Ecumenical Center. No parking decal is needed during this time.

Families will receive glow bracelets, candy bags to be decorated, and refreshments at the Ecumenical Center. Tour guides will then lead the families trick-or-treating through the UW-Green Bay residence halls and apartment buildings. Younger children will be taken to the nearest buildings, and some buildings have elevator access.

The Safe Trick-or-Treat Night is sponsored by the Community Apartment Board (CAB), a student programming organization for residents of the apartments on campus.

Committee Chair Maureen Armstrong says roughly 100 student rooms have participated in previous years for this CAB-sponsored event. She notes that the tour guides dress up, students decorate their rooms, and some of the student residents are in costume, too: “It’s lots of fun for everyone!”

Additional information about the Safe Trick-or-Treat Night is available from Armstrong via e-mail at ARMSML18@uwgb.edu.
