UW-Green Bay Lawton Gallery to present ‘Figuring It Out’ exhibit Oct. 9-30

UW-Green Bay’s Lawton Gallery will present its next exhibit, “Figuring It Out: David Lenz, Gina Litherland, Nancy Mladenoff, Charles Munch and Fred Stonehouse,” from Thursday, Oct. 9 through Thursday, Oct. 30 at the gallery in Theatre Hall on campus, 2420 Nicolet Drive.

The exhibit will kick off with an opening reception in the gallery from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 9, which will include brief talks from artists Charles Munch and Fred Stonehouse. Prior to the reception, Stonehouse will give a lecture about his work from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Studio Arts Building, Room 350.

“Figuring It Out” features the works of five Wisconsin artists who use the figure in a variety of different ways. The exhibit considers this element of their works and examines the place and role of the human figure in the artists’ wide-ranging practices.

Located in Room 230 of Theatre Hall, the Lawton Gallery is open from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday during fall and spring semesters. All gallery events are free and open to the public.
