‘ZAM: Oskar Ly’ is new exhibit at Lawton Gallery, beginning Oct. 10

Green Bay, Wis.— The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay’s Lawton Gallery will open the exhibit “ZAM: Oskar Ly,” Oct. 10, 2019. “ZAM” is an exhibition featuring select works and collections by queer Hmong French American fashion artist Oskar Ly. The exhibition features selections ranging from conceptual fashion art to wearable arts. Inspired by Hmong couture aesthetics, these works are rooted in traditions and yet they are energized by creating new futures.

The opening reception will take place on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the Lawton Gallery. The exhibition will be open from Oct. 10 to Oct. 31, 2019 during gallery hours, which are Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Ly will give an artist talk, Thursday, Oct. 10,, 2019 from 3 to 4 p.m. in the Lawton Gallery about her work on display in “ZAM.” All Lawton Gallery events are free and open to the public.
