Hornacek joins UW-Green Bay as news/media relations coordinator

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay has hired former television reporter Robert Hornacek as its new coordinator of video/audio news and media relations.

Hornacek, a native of Mequon, Wis., spent more than a decade as a reporter with WLUK-TV in Green Bay. He began his career at Channel 11 in 1999 as a general assignment reporter. He eventually specialized in investigative reporting.

During his career in broadcasting, Hornacek covered everything from education to natural disasters and Packers games to politics. His stories have won several state and regional awards.

Before moving to Green Bay, Hornacek worked as a reporter/photographer at KTEN-TV in Denison, Texas, an NBC affiliate in North Texas.

At UW-Green Bay, Hornacek will put his professional skills to use as the coordinator of video/audio news and media relations. He will be working in the University Communication office where he will create video features for the campus website.

Hornacek is a graduate of UW-Milwaukee and holds a degree in mass communications with an emphasis in broadcast journalism. He also plays the bass guitar and earned a degree in music performance from Milwaukee Area Technical College.
