Jim Filter ‘98 becomes the newest member of the Cofrin School of Business Advisory Board

GREEN BAY, WI – The Cofrin School of Business is thrilled to welcome UW-Green Bay alumnus Jim Filter to its Advisory Board.

Jim Filter is Executive Vice President, Group President of Transportation and Logistics at Schneider, a premier provider of transportation, intermodal and logistics services. He is responsible for all aspects of Schneider’s three operating segments: Truckload, Intermodal and Logistics, as well as Sales and Marketing.

“Having someone with Jim’s leadership experience helping to guide the future of the Cofrin School of Business is invaluable,” said Matt Dornbush, Dean of the Cofrin School of Business. “Schneider is the largest employer of UW-Green Bay alumni and a vital partner for student internships, mentorships, and more. Schneider is also consistently on the leading edge of technology application, and I look forward to Jim bringing this culture to our curricula and student experiences.”

Filter started his career with Schneider as a Maintenance Team Leader in 1998, while still a student at UW-Green Bay. Prior to assuming his current role in 2022, Filter was the Senior Vice President/General Manager of Intermodal and Chief Commercial Officer.

“In my 25 years at Schneider, I’ve had great opportunities to contribute to a company that cares deeply for our business, our customers, and our communities,” shared Jim. “I’m looking forward to working with the Cofrin School of Business and helping to shape the future business leaders in Northeast Wisconsin. I’m excited for what is yet to come.”

Prior to joining Schneider, Filter worked at UPS and served in the United States Marine Corps. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and an MBA from Wayne State University. His community involvement also includes serving on the board of directors for Family Services of Northeast Wisconsin.
