UW-Green Bay Music presents ‘Sylvia Hong and Michael Rector, duo pianists’
GREEN BAY – University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Music presents “Faculty Recital: Sylvia Hong and Michael Rector, duo pianists” Sunday, May 5, 2019 in Fort Howard Hall, Weidner Center for the Performing Arts at 3 p.m. UW-Green Bay Music faculty members Hong and Rector return to the Weidner Center for the first time since their performance in the Olympic city of Gangneung during the 2018 Olympic Winter Games in Korea. The “duo pianists” will present a recital featuring pieces by Schubert, Ravel and Copland as well as solo pieces by Strauss and Debussy. Free admission and open to the public.
Hong and Rector have played recitals at the Kennedy Center in Washington and the Lotte Concert Hall in Seoul. In April 2013, they won the second prize and Abild Prize for the best performance of American music at the Ellis Competition for Duo-Pianists. In April 2014, they 
toured in Eastern Europe, performing with the Georgian Sinfonietta and Black Sea Symphony. Highlights of their numerous tours in Korea include playing two sold-out concerts on the same day in Busan, and an invitation to perform with the city orchestra in the Olympic city of Gangneung during the 2018 winter games.

Perhaps the most versatile space in the Weidner Center, the 45’ x 54’ 200-seat, theatre-style hall features a beautiful hardwood floor and retractable seating.
