One-Credit Graduate Course: Introduction to Sustainability for Teachers

The University of Wisconsin-Green Bay Division of Outreach and Adult Access is now accepting registrations for a new single-credit graduate course for educators, “The Natural Step: Introduction to Sustainability for Teachers.”

Targeted to elementary educators and community members who have an interest in the concept of a sustainable society, this offering is available in both graduate-credit and non-credit formats.

Classes will be held 4-6 p.m. on March 3, 10, 17, 24 and April 7, 14; and 4-7 p.m. on April 21.

The course will be offered in a study-circle format at Crossroads at Big Creek Environmental Learning Preserve in Sturgeon Bay. During class sessions participants will take turns leading discussions taken from the text, The Natural Step for Communities: How Cities and Towns can Change to Sustainable Practices, and will be introduced to sustainability initiatives introduced first in Sweden, and now taught throughout the world.

This course is in keeping with the UW-Green Bay Campus Common Theme for the 2009-2010 year — “Realizing our Sustainable Future.” To find out more details about the course: www.uwgb.edu/educationoutreach.
