UW-Green Bay student honors recital is Feb. 6

Six University of Wisconsin-Green Bay students will play in the annual Student Honors Music Recital at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 6 in the Fort Howard Hall of the Weidner Center for the Performing Arts.

The recital is free and open to the public. The Weidner Center is on the UW-Green Bay campus at 2420 Nicolet Drive.

The UW-Green Bay music faculty selected the six UW-Green Bay undergraduate student musicians from the fall 2009 instrumental and vocal music juries.

Megan Fletcher, soprano, Waupun, will be performing “Morgen” by Richard Strauss, “The Crucifixion” by Samuel Barber, and “Spirate pur, Spirate” by Stefano Donaudy.

Nathan Hermus, oboe, Green Bay, will be performing “Third Solo de Concert For Oboe and Piano” by Charles Colin.

Benjamin Hogan, marimba, De Pere, will be performing “Torse III, Movements I, III and IV” by Akira Miyoshi.

Kyle Kinzel, piano, Middleton, will be performing “Sonata in D minor, op. 31, no.2 Movements I, Largo-Allegro” by Ludwig van Beethoven.

Greg Muller, tenor, Dickeyville, will be performing “Intorno all’idol mio” by Marco Antonio Cesti, “Brother Will Brother John” by John Sacco, and “Love Went a Riding” by Frank Bridge.

Tyler Rindo, clarinet, Berlin, will be performing “Sonata for Clarinet and Piano, Movement I Allegro tristamenta, and Movement II Romanza” by Francis Poulenc.
