UW-Green Bay Offerings for Educators include school technology, aviation courses

UW-Green Bay Education Outreach is presenting a full array of Winter/Spring 2014 Offerings for Educators, research-based courses designed to provide teachers, administrators and other professionals the practical education they need to apply theory and best practice to the classroom and school environment.

The diverse selection of courses includes a variety of new options, as well as returning favorites. Tech-savvy educators — or those who would like to be — can choose from a selection of courses including the brand-new “Google Tools: Moving Your Skills to the Next Level!” This new course teaches many of the advanced features of Google Drive, Google Presentation, Google Forms, Spreadsheet, Google Sites and more, many of which can be used whether or not a district has adopted Google Apps.

Also on the technology front, the Winter/Spring Offerings for Educators will include the popular returning course, “Integrating iPads Into the Curriculum,” as well as the brand-new “Using iPads to Enhance Unit Design.” Both courses will offer both conceptual and practical learning for integrating iPads in the classroom, and both are appropriate for all grade levels, K-12.

Educators and others with an interest in flying can sign up for another Winter/Spring course, the returning “Aviation and Aerodynamics for Private and Sport Pilots.” Appropriate for ages 16 and older, this training is designed to help participants understand the aerodynamic principles and physics of powered flight as well as to evaluate the exciting field of aviation as a career or hobby. The course prepares its students for successfully passing the FAA Private Pilot or Sport Pilot written exam; upon completion of the nine-week course, participants will receive an endorsement to take the exam of their choosing.
