Registration open for Institute for Women’s Leadership winter/spring 2023 leadership development programs

In-person and virtual sessions and new Lessons in Leadership deliver learning opportunities and support for professional women across the region
Green Bay, WI — Registration is now open for UW-Green Bay’s spring/winter 2023 Institute for Women’s Leadership (IWL) leadership development programs. Designed to deliver the three things women need to advance in their careers – networking/connections, education and inspiration—the calendar of events runs January through May and includes 17 different structured and informal learning opportunities to build skills and connections.
“Women in Northeast Wisconsin need flexible options and a place where they can connect, learn and be inspired,” said Institute for Women’s Leadership Executive Director, Janet Bonkowski. “The Institute is that place and is focused on growing the pipeline of women leaders in Northeast Wisconsin. Our breadth of programming allows women to customize what they need, and what they have time for at this point in their lives. Whether that’s an occasional event or an entire program series, we welcome all who are looking to invest in their leadership abilities.”

“Rising Together: Caffeinated Conversations” – A facilitated discussion group for women business leaders to grapple with important topics and to take things to the next level in their careers and life. These conversations will take place virtually and in-person at coffee shops at various locations in Green Bay, Manitowoc, Sheboygan. Topics include:

- February – The Double-Bind of Likability

“Women Rising: Stories from Experience” – A series featuring distinguished woman from the area, sharing their stories of challenge and triumph and offering advice for women following in their footsteps. IWL Executive in Residence, Bridget Krage O’Connor, moderates the stories.

Lessons in Leadership – A new online-only day of learning for anyone ready to hone their skills and increase their impact as a leader but short on time. The Institute is offering three 90-minute sessions on Friday, February 10, 2023 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. that will help build your leadership toolkit without leaving your own home or office. Topics include:
- Cultivate Professional Presence
- Develop a Strong Team
- Foster Inclusion
Advanced Leadership Certificate – Beginning in February, women are invited to be a part of the second cohort to participate in the Advanced Leadership Certificate. Get immersed in topics that will help you navigate your career and working environment to grow as a leader. Learn guiding principles, explore, collaborate and take away confidence-building skills. Advance your leadership skills through robust conversations, interactive sessions and networking opportunities with women across a wide range of industries and experiences.
With eight sessions to choose from, led by executive-level instructors from Northeast Wisconsin, participants can tailor the program to suit their individual leadership development needs by taking taking individual classes to fill in an experience gap, or all eight session to complete the certificate and earn a digital badge. Sessions include:
