Green Bay men almost pull off OT victory in Cohen’s debut game

Green Bay had a chance to win the game with the final possession in regulation on Thursday night (Dec. 21), but it couldn’t get a shot off and eventually fell in overtime to Bowling Green 81-78 at the Resch Center. It was the debut of Sandy Cohen III as a member of the Phoenix, who finished with 16 points on the night with the adrenaline running high. Bowling Green (8-4) opened the overtime period, scoring 11 of the first 14 points in the period, taking a 73-65 lead with 2:18 to go in OT. GB fought back to force a two-point game with 24 seconds remaining, but BGSU would end up making 8-straight free throws to secure the road victory. The Phoenix will play its final non-conference game of the season on Saturday, when it travels to Madison to face Wisconsin. Tip-off is set for 4:30 p.m. at the Kohl Center with the game being televised on the Big Ten Network.
