UW-Green Bay was among thousands of institutions and individuals state-and nation-wide that paused this morning to remember last week’s tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School. At 8:30 a.m. local time, precisely one week after the shooting, the Weidner Memorial Carillon pealed 26 times, once for each victim who died in the attack at the school. The Wisconsin governor’s office requested that churches and government buildings with the capability ring bells 26 times at that hour. On a cold, windswept day, we captured the somber remembrance on video, as a way to reflect and honor the lives lost.
