Coverage of Friday morning’s December Board of Regents meeting in Madison focused on a bipartisan compromise that will cap out-of-state enrollment at the state’s flagship campus at 27.5%. Actually, the cap applies to all UW institutions, but in practical terms affects only UW-Madison, the only campus near the threshold. (The cap, incidentally, exempts students from Minnesota attending under the longstanding reciprocity agreement.) UW-Green Bay, in case you were wondering, enrolls 93 percent of its student body from Wisconsin. If you’re interested in the UW-Green Bay numbers, download the fact sheet at www.uwgb.edu/oira/factsheets/2012.pdf.
