Outreach and Adult Access plans disaster recovery conference

The UW-Green Bay Division of Outreach and Adult Access will present a daylong conference on disaster recovery Thursday, Dec. 4 at the Radisson Hotel and Conference Center in Green Bay. “Rebuilding Your Community After a Disaster: A Whole Community Approach” is designed for public and private sector professionals who want to learn the latest trends in successful disaster recovery. The “Whole Community” approach reinforces the idea that no one organization has the strengths, capabilities and competencies to successfully respond on its own. Keynote speaker for the event is St. Peter, Minn. city administrator Todd Prafke, who will speak about the 1998 tornado that tore through the community, killing one person, injuring many and damaging more than 1,700 homes. Our own Lucy Arendt, associate dean and director of the Cofrin School of Business, along with Prof. Emeritus Dan Alesch, also will present. Read more.
