Munich muralist is third Art Agency guest artist through Mueller gift

Wendy Bell, a painter and muralist who teaches and lives in Munich, Germany, will visit UW-Green Bay for a one-week residency. Among the highlights of her visit: She’ll work on an interactive art piece called “valuable GreenBay” in the Studio Arts cafeteria Monday through Thursday (Nov. 5 through 8), where she will be asking participants to provide one word about what is valuable to them, and then incorporate those words in a large-scale drawing. Bell will also give a free public lecture about her work on Monday (Nov. 5) from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m. in Studio Arts Room 350. There will be a reception immediately following the talk to publicly honor and thank philanthropist Marcia Mueller for her generous donation to the fine arts and the student Art Agency at UW-Green Bay. Mueller’s gift supports a series of lectures and workshops, of which Bell’s visit is the third. Prof. Jennifer Mokren, chairperson of the Art and Design program, says next week’s events are free and open to the campus community.
