Smithsonian funds additional work at Wabikon Forest plot

UW-Green Bay Profs. Amy Wolf and Robert Howe, along with Herbarium Curator Gary Fewless, have received a $51,000 grant from The Smithsonian Institution for research at the Wabikon Forest Dynamics Plot in northern Wisconsin. UW-Green Bay faculty, staff and students have been conducting research at Wabikon, located near Crandon, since 2007. This summer, 14 students participated in the project, led in the field by Cindy Burtley (UW-Green Bay graduate student), Josh Martinez (Cofrin Center for Biodiversity project coordinator) and Michael Stiefvater (Cofrin Center for Biodiversity GIS specialist).
