The UW-Green Bay family lost one of its own on Wednesday, Oct. 8, when Barb Sydow, academic department associate in the Professional Program in Nursing, passed away following a long battle with cancer. She was 72. Barb started at UW-Green Bay in September 2003 as a financial specialist. Prior to that she was the town clerk for the town of Suamico, a human resource/payroll administrator for C.A. Lawton Company, and a deputy county clerk for Columbia County. Her interests included sailing, music, sports, crafts, dog training and volunteering. A visitation is set for 4-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18, with a memorial service following at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1253 County Highway J, Little Suamico, WI, 54141. In lieu of flowers, a Barbara Sydow Charitable Memorial Fund has been established. Donations can be made out and sent to St. John’s Lutheran Church with a memo of “B.
