Friends, patrons of the arts, local musicians and international artists returned home to Green Bay for a spectacular evening of “Homecomings” 25th Anniversary concert, Sept. 22, 2018. It was the inaugural concert of the Weidner Center’s 25th Anniversary Season.
The evening opened to the Youth Symphony Orchestra of St. Norbert College with guest violin soloist Wayne Lin. Lin was a featured performer at the Weidner Center Grand Opening Gala as a young boy. Green Bay native and Broadway star, Jessica Tyler Wright, and Green Bay’s Phantom of the Opera, Brad Little, also returned. The evening concluded with the Weidner Anniversary Orchestra, and featured a number of UW-Green Bay faculty with Beverly Taylor conducting. An evening favorite was violinist Lin, taking the stage with the Orchestra in a piece by Mendelsohn, Violin Concerto in E minor, Op. 64.
