Fifty years ago UW-Green Bay held its first classes on the new Shorewood campus. Plans had been underway since 1965 when the new campus was authorized. The groundbreaking ceremony was held in March 1968 and, the first Chancellor, Ed Weidner, set an ambitious goal to have classes begin in fall 1969.
