Faculty and staff welcome to participate in First-Year Convocation, Sept. 3
Faculty and staff are invited to attend UW-Green Bay’s second annual First-Year Student Convocation at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3 in the Weidner Center. This will be the official welcome for the incoming Class of 2023 to the University. The half-hour welcome will feature words of encouragement and thoughts on success from Chancellor Miller, Provost Alexander, Green Bay Mayor Eric Genrich and others, followed by a class photo at the new Phoenix sculpture.
First-Year Convocation was designed by a core group of faculty, students, and staff to welcome and celebrate first-year students. Faculty and staff are asked to arrive by 8:50 a.m. and enter enter together in support of the students. There will be a reserved section for faculty and staff and the new students will sit in the front; and you will be acknowledged as an important resource for our new students. University regalia will not be worn, however this is an important milestone for our new students.
