Smart swimmers: Phoenix women make the grade for Scholar All-America list

The UW-Green Bay women’s swim team added to the list of athletics’ academic accolades recently, when the squad was named to the Swimming Coaches Association of America’s Scholar All-America list. The Phoenix logged a collective GPA of 3.34 during spring semester, one of 13 UW-Green Bay sports teams to achieve a 3.2 or higher GPA. It was one of the most successful academic semesters ever for Phoenix student-athletes, who combined for a record-high 3.27 GPA. The women’s basketball team led the way with a 3.616 team GPA for the 2011-12 season, earning the Phoenix the No. 1 ranking in the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association Academic Top 25 honor roll.
