Badgers to visit Resch Center

The UW men’s basketball team’s non-conference schedule was announced recently and the Badgers’ only “true” road game is, you guessed it, in Green Bay. The Phoenix will host the Badgers on Dec. 9 at the Resch Center. It’ll be the series’ first game in Green Bay since Nov. 30, 2002, which was also the first regular-season game at the Resch Center. The visit is the sixth game in a 10-year contract between the schools, which has the Badgers coming to Green Bay only once more, in the 2013-14 season. UW owns a 15-0 record against the Phoenix, with all but two of those games played in Madison. Read more.

The last time the UW men’s basketball team came to Green Bay, the Badgers defeated the Phoenix 69-52. Wisconsin, then the No. 25 team in the country, led by six at the half (32-26). The Phoenix kept it close, down by only seven points with 3 minutes remaining. The crowd of 9,705 was the largest ever for a Green Bay home game. It was also the first home game for then-new Phoenix head coach Tod Kowalczyk.
