New bookstore to open at 8 a.m. July 9, meet the managment
The Phoenix Bookstore will open at 8 a.m. July 9, 2018, under the management of Follett. Follett managers will be contacting University staff, faculty and students to establish positive relationships. In the meantime, meet the management:
Monica Wittrock is the new UW-Green Bay bookstore manager. She brings 14 years of management experience, after serving as store manager on the St. Norbert College campus community for the past 10 years. During her time at St. Norbert College Wittrock has worked closely with faculty and various departments to offer textbooks, supplies and team apparel at student-friendly prices. She strengthened the St. Norbert College mission of community by offering author events and child-centered book events. She brings her philosophy of creating a positive store environment that meets the needs of the all students, faculty, staff and community. Her mission is to help educators drive success for students from their first day of school through college graduation and beyond! She looks forward to branching out to bring books, apparel and gifts to events around the campus community.
Helen Hansen joins the bookstore as course materials manager. Hansen grew up on a cattle farm in Northern Minnesota and acquired a Fine Arts degree in creative writing from Bemidji State University. Past positions include team lead in the text department at William Mitchell College of Law in Saint Paul, Minn. She was promoted to the assistant store manager at Metropolitan State University shortly after. Ten months later she was named store manager at the Mitchell campus. Two years ago, she managed the newly combined Mitchell campus with the neighboring law school, Hamline School of Law (now the Mitchell Hamline School of Law). Her mission in her role is empowerment through education.
