Laurel Phoenix to be honored by water group
Prof. Laurel Phoenix of UW-Green Bay’s Public and Environmental Affairs academic unit has been selected to receive a national award presented by the American Water Resources Association at the AWRA annual meeting in Jacksonville, Fla., this November. Phoenix will be presented the Icko Iben Award recognizing those who have made outstanding contributions to the promotion of communications among the various disciplines of global water resources. A specialist in water resources management, drinking water and infrastructure issues, Phoenix has served as an editor for AWRA’s bi-monthly IMPACT magazine.
Announcement of the award follows recent news that emeriti Public and Environmental Affairs faculty members Mike Kraft and Denise Scheberle are also recipients of major national honors.
