Former Phoenix assistant getting World Cup playing time

Lauren Sesselmann has started two of three matches for unbeaten Canada in the Women’s World Cup. A graduate of Purdue University, the defender has played professionally in the United States and was a regular for the Canadian national team that won bronze at the 2012 Olympics. Sesselmann, 31, grew up in Green Bay and was an assistant coach for the Phoenix women’s soccer team in fall 2012. More recently she has attracted attention for her fitness host and modeling work.
