Imperial joins Schreiber Foods Institute for Women’s Leadership

Imperial Supplies LLC (Imperial) is committed to providing its female employees with opportunities for individual growth, strengthening leadership skills and networking with other women leaders in the region. To empower this commitment, Imperial joined Schreiber Foods Institute for Women’s Leadership as a business member.

All Imperial employees can attend networking events free or at a discount and join a private LinkedIn group for discussion. Company leaders at Imperial can receive consulting, support and help creating an employee resource group. Imperial will also gain exposure on the Institute website and at the annual celebration event.

Kara Miller, a business system analyst with Imperial Supplies, has participated in multiple Institute programs, including Caffeinated Conversations, Stories from Experience, Celebrate 2022, Celebrate 2023 and leadership development.

“I love the variety of the offerings of the Institute – from full certificate programs to 90-minute conversations. There are so many ways to engage,” Kara said. “The Institute provides an inclusive platform of program offerings for individuals at any stage of their career to participate and gain insights.”

Approximately twenty Imperial Supplies employees attended the Celebrate 2023 event, which was held April 20 at The Weidner.

“One of my biggest learnings was from the Stories from Experience with Jenene Calloway of Schreiber Foods,” continued Kara. “Jenene talked about the concept of ‘doing it afraid with wobbly knees.’ Hearing that message really encouraged me from the standpoint of getting out of my comfort zone and taking steps towards growth and development.”

Kara also found value attending two advanced leadership courses and Lessons in Leadership.

“From my advanced leadership classes, I learned change is constant, and I took away great actionable steps,” she said. “Lessons in Leadership provided me a lot of opportunity for self-reflection, thinking more empathetically and being more intentional with how I operate in these areas.”

Business membership fees are offered at a sliding scale based on the number of employees. Nonprofit organizations — no matter their size — pay the lowest membership fee. Learn more about getting involved with the Institute on the website.
