Great grants: Center for Public Affairs hosts inaugural training event

The UW-Green Bay Center for Public Affairs hosted its inaugural community training session recently, welcoming more than three-dozen participants for a daylong session on grant-writing. Led by CFPA Director and Assistant Prof. Lora Warner, along with grant-writing expert Joe Gaunt, the day’s session covered such topics as finding grant opportunities, identifying what reviewers are looking for, structuring an application and more. Participants also got the chance for peer reviews and personalized feedback on current proposals. The training, held May 22, is one way in which the CFPA is working to fulfill its goal of providing continuing education opportunities for local organizations that serve the public. Additional trainings will be scheduled, including an outcome-measurement session in the fall. Details of that event are forthcoming.
