Commencement speaker says UW-Green Bay passes the eye test

Commencement speaker Joseph J. Carroll, Ph.D., a 1997 UW-Green Bay grad and a rising star in the world of ophthalmology research, told the Class of 2014 on Saturday that he has always believed his college education was a terrific investment. Theirs, too. “The key word is ‘value,’” he told the grads. “You’ve just received the best value of your life. Trust me. Better than the dollar menu at McDonalds.” He then went on to explain how it has been his experience that UW-Green Bay graduates can compete with, and out-compete, graduates of the bigger and so-called “bigger name” institutions.
