Texas-size journey: New grad will see campus for first time Saturday

Renee Simons is a Green Bay native — her father worked on construction of the original buildings at UW-Green Bay — but the woman from Lampasas, Texas, has never set foot on campus. That’ll change this weekend. Simons will receive her Bachelor of Applied Studies Degree with a major in Interdisciplinary Studies and an emphasis in Human Development. Interested in returning to college, she shopped campuses closer to home, and other virtual options. Too expensive, too inflexible. “Then one day I was looking at the Green Bay Press-Gazette online and there was an ad for the UW-Green Bay Adult Degree Program, I clicked, got the information, called and the rest is history.” Interesting feature, up in rotation on the main homepage; click here.
