Register for May Inclusivity Workshops

The Inclusivity and Equity Certificate Program are offering Workshops 1 and 2 on Friday, May 12 in the University Union World Unity B. Workshop 1 is from 10 a.m. to noon and Workshop 2 is from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. The Inclusivity and Equity Certificate Program offered by Inclusive Excellence requires the completion of Workshops 1 and 2. Workshop 1 explores the concept of Inclusive Excellence and how it relates to UW-Green Bay. Attendees will learn the difference between a hate crime and bias through specific examples utilized in the “Stop the Hate” training at UWGB. Through small group work, participants will be able to identify examples of Inclusive Excellence that can be used in the classroom/workplace at UWGB.

Workshop 2 defines the difference between tolerance and acceptance and how a cultural change can occur from tolerance to acceptance. Other concepts that are introduced and explored include cultural humility, how to be accountable for change, tokenism and the ability for employee resource groups to enhance employee engagement. Breakout sessions explore some of these concepts. Attendance in Workshop 1 is encouraged but not required to attend Workshop 2.

There are 15 seats left in each workshop. To register please contact Stacie Christian at christis@uwgb.edu.
