Retirees gathering for Verdi’s Requiem

The UW-Green Bay Retiree Association is organizing a group outing at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 15, to support UW-Green Bay Music as it presents one of its most ambitious concerts ever: a grand, community-campus performance of Verdi’s famous Requiem at the Weidner Center. Regarded among the great choral and orchestral masterworks of all time, the Requiem calls for four soloists, a double choir and full symphony orchestra. The April 15 staging features not only UWGB student singers under the direction of Prof. Randy Meder, but singers from St. Norbert College, the Green Bay Choral Artists and the Dudley Birder Chorale, about 200 voices in all. Making its Weidner Center debut as part of this unique collaboration will be the Civic Symphony of Green Bay. There’s a special group discount ticket price for UWGB retirees if they meet the minimum threshold for a group order and preferred seats: $13.80/person. To reserve your ticket, email or call Chris Sampson by Thursday, April 12, at SampsonC@uwgb.edu or 920-606-2081.
