On Tuesday, April 9, 2019, three professors from the University of the Basque Country will be visiting UW-Green Bay. As part of their campus visit, they will meet with faculty and students to discuss potential academic collaborations. In addition, they will give a lecture on “Cultural and Political Images of the Basque Country.” The presentation is scheduled from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Alumni room (Room 103) located in UW-Green Bay’s University Union. Prof. Ludger Mees will be discussing Gernika, a site of universal and Basque lieu de memoir, Prof. Santiago de Pablo will address the depiction of terrorism in recent Basque cinematic productions in Terror on the screen and Prof. Coro Rubio will talk about the role of cultural products in the construction of a Basque identity in Building Basques from Political Culture.
