Kowalczyk is new coach at University of Toledo

Tod Kowalczyk was introduced Tuesday as the new head coach at the University of Toledo. In his eight seasons at UW-Green Bay, Kowalczyk’s teams posted a 136-112 record, winning 22 games in each of the past two seasons. In an interview with WDUZ-AM radio late Tuesday afternoon, Kowalczyk said he was most proud during his time at UW-Green Bay of the success of his student athletes. Bothof announces national search

Phoenix Athletics Director Ken Bothof announced the University will immediately begin a national search for a new head men’s basketball coach. “On behalf of the Green Bay community, I would like to thank Tod for his service and dedication to UW-Green Bay over the past eight years and wish him the best of luck at Toledo,” Bothof said. “He, his family and his staff definitely will be missed in the Phoenix family.” Bothof said he’d have no further comment regarding the coaching search until its conclusion.
