Kayla Coopman, community sourcing strategist for Human Resources from HSHS Wisconsin, visited students in the NURSING 240 Introduction to Professional Nursing Concepts and NURSING 390 Leadership for Sustainable Healthcare classes on Tuesday, March 22.

She provided information on student nursing opportunities at St. Vincent and St. Mary’s Hospitals in Green Bay as well as in Sheboygan. Openings exist in the medical/surgical unit, intensive care unit, and emergency department. Some positions include a $10,000 sign-on bonus. Students can gain valuable experience working as a certified nursing assistant with open positions available.

Rania Jones, a sophomore majoring in nursing, is looking forward to all of the possibilities that a degree in nursing affords. “There are so many different kinds of jobs in nursing.”  She appreciates the UW-Green Bay nursing program and shared, “I love the hands-on experience we are getting in this program. The instructors are great, and they are making learning about nursing a lot of fun.”
