NIT hopes brighter with Cleveland State win

The chances of the UW-Green Bay men’s basketball team making the NIT tournament improved Tuesday night after Cleveland State won the Horizon League tournament with a win over top-seeded and No. 16-ranked Butler. Cleveland State has an automatic berth to the NCAA tourney now and Butler will likely still get an at-large bid. The NIT has traditionally invited the second-place finisher in the Horizon League, but with two teams heading to the Big Dance, the odds of an invite to the Phoenix improve. The selection committees make their decisions on Sunday.
