Tri-Beta Bone Marrow Drive, March 24
The biological honor society, Tri-Beta, is sponsoring a bone marrow drive, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 24 just outside the Phoenix Club to encourage people to sign up as potential donors for someone in need of a life-saving bone marrow transplant (BMT). Bone marrow transplants are performed to cure people of certain forms of leukemia, lymphoma and breast cancer. Finding a match for these procedures outside of sibling relationships can be challenging, so bone marrow drives are important opportunities to improve the odds of finding matches when there is a need. A member of the UW-Green Bay campus, identified by a recent Tri-Beta drive, matched someone in need of a bone marrow transplant and saved a life. Please consider serving as a potential donor by providing a cheek swab at the Phoenix Club.
