Studio Arts: Teacher, Class of '06, takes art students to college

Denmark High School art class visits UW-Green Bay

Art teacher Candice (Kaiser) Boutelle, who has a little metals and jewelry and sculpture experience herself from her days at UW-Green Bay, wanted her students to see how it’s done at the college level.

Boutelle, who received her bachelor’s in art education here in 2006, lined up a hands-on field trip last Friday (March 2) at the University’s Studio Arts Building. She was accompanied by about 30 young artists from Denmark High School.

Boutelle (above, left) and her students received instruction in enameling on metal from Prof. Jennifer Mokren (above, right.) They also spent time with Prof. Minkyu Lee in the ceramics studio.
