Aftermath of Chilean earthquake
As relief crews struggle to help the victims of the Chilean earthquake, Brent Blahnik, director of the office of International Education, reports that UW-Green Bay has no students studying in Chile and no students at the University who are from that nation. As for alumni, former Phoenix basketball standout Logan Vander Velden (now of Fort Wayne, Ind.) is several years removed from his professional playing days in that nation, which he described recently as his favorite among the several foreign countries where he has lived. Also, we note that Prof. Steven Dutch has created a program titled “Faults and Earthquakes” that is helpful in explaining the science of earthquakes. Here’s a link.
