On Thursday and Friday, March 8 and 9, 2018 at 7 p.m., the Actors From The London Stage will be performing Shakespeare’s witty, face-paced, hilarious and provocative comedy “The Taming of the Shrew,” at the University Theatre, Theatre Hall, UW-Green Bay. Prior to that, they will be “in residence” working with students across disciplines, engaging them in high-impact classes and that deal with language, performance, public speaking, social sciences, law, science and the broad array of disciplines that Shakespeare’s works encompass. This organization, founded by Sir Patrick Stewart, is sending a troupe of five highly talented professional actors to UW-Green Bay. They will cover the range of characters with dynamic performances that bring the text to life, in one of Shakespeare’s most accessible and problematic comedies entertains even as it questions romantic conventions, social status and gender norms.
