Green Bay immigration rally (organized by UWGB students) draws hundreds

In a story that ran in the Green Bay Press-Gazette, UW-Green Bay students Sam Dunkovich, Casey Hicks and Courtney Maye said they organized a local immigration rally to let immigrants, refugees, Muslims and others know they have supporters in the community. “There’s definitely a lack of representation locally for different cultures and nationally, a level of hostility toward them,” Maye said. “It would be silly to think that is not affecting immigrants here.” Hicks acknowledged Saturday’s march will not put an end to anti-immigrant sentiment, but said he sees it as the first step toward making Green Bay more supportive of people from different cultures.
