Early prof has kind words for UWGB, interdisciplinarity

Thomas Bender is a professor of history and university professor of the humanities at New York University. He says there are problems in history at the college level and in Ph.D. programs nationwide, and the profession is losing its influence. Bender, a few might remember, was an up-and-coming, award-winning professor for UWGB (1971-74) before he went east.
