Driving Alert and Road Closure on Green Bay Campus
The extreme cold and icy conditions are making travel hazardous throughout Northeast Wisconsin, including roads on the UW-Green Bay Campus in Green Bay.
Earlier today, UW-Green Bay Campus Police closed Leon Bond Drive from Bay Settlement Road to South Circle Drive due to these conditions.
While road crews on campus and throughout the area are doing what they can to clear roads, the extremely low temperatures are preventing road salt from effectively melting ice and are creating hazardous driving conditions and slippery roads.
The Brown County Sheriff’s Office and the Green Bay Police Department are also alerting motorists about the hazardous driving conditions created by the arctic air mass in the area for the next several days.
Please be aware of these conditions and limit driving if you are able to do so. Use additional caution when approaching intersections, slowing or stopping.
Travel safely and only if absolutely necessary.
